The need to build compelling customer experiences is never more critical than in the retail space, where it is often the only opportunity to give the customer a physical experience of your brand.
Best in store
We work with our clients to create shopping experiences that drive sales, build loyalty and establish a distinctive position in the customer's mind. From individual concept stores to nationwide chains, we work to ensure that the brand engages wherever people come into contact with it, whether in physical stores or online.
Increasing competition from e-commerce has given many retail players reason to think twice. By embracing the best aspects of online shopping and maintaining the key qualities of physical stores, we work to exceed customer expectations. It is equally important to invest in the people who work in the store.
“Our customer experience is a paradox. We want customers to enjoy shopping, but that means spending minimal time in shop. Thanks to Mission we’re achieving both.”
Stian Breivik

How long does it take?
Experience shows that completing a complete process takes 12-16 weeks. In a kick-off meeting, we agree on dates for important milestones and together define which resources are required internally for anchoring and decision-making.
Our process
① Insight
Whether we’re developing a campaign for a single store or a full retail concept, we start by researching the customer and the industry. This could involve on-the-street interviews, study tours or workshops with the customer. Our goal is to define the challenge, understand the customer journey and identify the customer’s needs and drivers.

② Concept
The design process is a chance to explore, uncover new possibilities and test the limits of your brand. We work with graphics, tone-of-voice, video, structure, lighting, form and materials to create a fully immersive experience for the customer.

③ Prototyping
The complex retail environment requires careful testing before rolling out the solution. Using advanced 3D models, material testing and physical prototypes, we can verify the experience and functionality the design is intended to convey.

④ Implement
Through collaboration with architects, shop fitters, logistics and planners, we ensure that the design comes to life exactly as intended. Moving forward we develop environments to be flexible, adapting to seasonal needs and marketing activities allowing the space to engage with customers throughout the year.
